Welcome to Puddleduck Cottage in Lerryn, Cornwall
Lin and Rob invite you to discover beautiful Lerryn, inspiration for Wind In The Willows. One of the most stunning rural villages in Cornwall, Lerryn is a magical creekside village, peacefully nestling in woodland with a pub and village shop. Lerryn Creek is rich in wildlife and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A self-catering cottage, Puddleduck is fully furnished and comfortably sleeps up to 8 people. Out of season Puddleduck is priced for 2 people, with a small extra charge per additional person.
We have superfast, free wi-fi, two charging stations for electric vehicles (13A and 32A), and solar panels on the roof that help provide electricity for the cottage.
Why not use our rowing boat and buoyancy aids to explore the river, or relax in our secret garden with summerhouse and barbeque, overlooking the river.
Sorry though, no pets or smoking.
"We all had a wonderful time at the cottage and in the boat, Lerryn is a very special and magical place, we all felt we had gone back in time and thoroughly relaxed and unwound. We were enchanted with the cottage, and thank you for all the little extras. Would love to return some time."
"We spent a week in this lovely cottage which comfortably slept 8. It was great that everything we needed was there, the owners are friendly and very helpful. We didn’t get onto the river but loved having access to a garden with play equipment for the children. Lerryn is a perfect spot to use as a base for Fowey, St Austell and further afield. Highly recommended. We should have stayed longer. Next year…... "
"We had an amazing time. Loved all we visited, Lanhydrock, Eden, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey, Padstow, Fowey and Port Isaac as well as lovely Lerryn and walks along the river. Thank you again for letting us stay in your cottage – it really has everything you could possibly need.."
Equipment includes TV & DVD player; cooker, microwave; washing machine, tumble dryer; dishwasher; fridge/freezer; food processor; heated towel rails, wall-mounted hairdryer and payphone.
A cot, high-chair and safety stair gate are available.
Lerryn is perfect for exploring Cornwall, close to attractions such as the Eden Project, Lanhydrock (plus the new cycle hub), Lost Gardens of Heligan, China Clay Museum, Shipwreck Museum at Charlestown Harbour (Poldark), Lostwithiel (Cornwall's antiques capital), Bodmin Jail, Fowey (take the ferry), Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey.
The area is full of stunning walks and a walks booklet can be purchased from Lerryn River Stores. A popular walk is through Ethy Woods and along the river to St Winnow where you can visit the beautiful riverside church, as well as the farm museum and then treat yourself to an ice cream or cream tea at Angie's before returning across fields past Ethy House.
Much of the action in Poldark takes place outdoors, against the backdrop of Cornwall’s breathtaking and rugged coastline. Discover the glistening blue waters, lush countryside and craggy cliffs that have been so appreciated during the first three series, even better in real-life than they are on screen!
